Well Isn't That Just Dandy?!#@!*!

DSC00627small
Computers, gotta love ‘em. Somehow all the content of all my blog entries for the past year have vanished into thin air. Poof, presto, shazam. Gone. Good grief.

It has, however, given me pause...do I even remember what I’ve said for over a year? Well, of course I remember the announcements of new galleries and shows I’ve been accepted into. And the bits of press I’ve been getting recently. But other than that it’s been mainly spontaneous babbling. Oh don’t get me wrong, I’ll keep babbling on, and I’m sad to have lost that year-long diary of life... but, gee, starting over is one of the things I’m best at :-)

In case you missed it, here’s a link to a nice writeup at the
SeattleBoutiqueBlogspot I got from Sydney Chavez, a Seattle style and fashion writer. Sydney reports for a few blogs and she focused on my bamboo jewelry for her post.

I’ve added a few more wholesale accounts to my customer list this month:
Campiche Studios in Long Beach, WA and Eartheart Gallery in Nevada City, CA. Click over to the “Affiliations” tab to see who in your area carries my work. And if no one is close to you don’t hesitate to contact one of them and ask for the piece you want. They all have access to my entire line.

See you at Best of the Northwest April 3-5!

NOTE: WooHoo! I got some of the blogs back! Guess there was some kinda rift in the space-time continuum. Anyhoo, I’ve pasted the previous month’s rambling back into their proper places and will keep my fingers crossed that they stay put.

Previously dated entries are recovered post-crash. I’ll try to add the links and photos back as I get the time:

Learning New Things

I’ve been taking a few classes this month and have several more scheduled for the coming months. I love taking classes to learn new techniques and materials. It’s always a challenge though to continue experimenting when I “get home”. There’s something easy about having only one thing to focus on in front of you during class. When I get back to my studio (and life) there are so many things in front of me that my new found skills often get put on a shelf. This month however I’ve taken a class in the new Bronze Clay with Saul Bell award winner Patrik Kusek and have one coming up in Polymer Clay with amazing artist Ronna Sarvas Weltman. Both artists have a style I’m drawn to and have really pushed the boundaries of their medium. And recently they have been doing collaborative pieces with polymer and bronze clays. I’m eager to incorporate my new skills and inspiration in new work for later this year. As my girlfriends would say, I’m “crockpotting” new ideas right now. They are in there on a slow simmer until they are ready :-)

Also this month I’ve received a lovely mention in Sydney Chavez’s blog. Sydney is a fashion writer on several blogs and included my bamboo work as an example of eco-friendly jewelry. She also writes for the examiner.com as their Seattle style and fashion examiner. If you haven’t checked out the examiner.com you should. It has a wealth of information on a wide range of topics and has both national and regional writers.

I have a couple new shops carrying my work and I’ve added them to the list under the Affiliations tab. My wholesale business is growing at the perfect rate: new accounts every month but at a pace that I can keep up with orders and incorporate them into productions schedules.

Best of the Northwest Spring show is April 3, 4, 5 at Seattle Center so I’m in the studio getting ready for the show. Hope to see you there!
