The Lost Summer

My goodness. I had no idea it had been so long since my last update. With the summer focused on hand therapy and then gradually getting back into the studio I’ve been pretty distracted. The good news is my hand is about 90-95% healed and I’m not experiencing any residual problems.

I spent last weekend in Boise at the Boise Art Museum’s annual Art in the Park show. It was over 90 degrees for the weekend and the heat made everyone drag. Especially the artists sitting in little white plastic booths! Luckily I had a battery powered fan or you would have found me in a little melted lump in the corner. I do love this show. The park setting is lovely with (for some lucky booths) big trees for shade and a gorgeous rose garden. The show has 270 artists plus live music, food, raffles, etc. It’s a big deal with over 250,000 attending last year. Hopefully I’ll be accepted next year too...and I’ll remember to bring a patio umbrella to create more shade!

I just got word that I’m accepted into the Phinney Winter Festival on December 5 and 6. This is a fun, fun show for both the artists and the attendees. If you haven’t been there before don’t miss it this year. See the sidebar for location and times.

I have a trip to Asia coming up soon. It’s obvious through my jewelry that I have a love of Asian art and I’m so excited to be going to Japan, China and Korea. I’ve been in a flurry of arranging housesitters, building up inventory and engaging shipping helpers to keep the orders flowing. Thank you for your support as my little business flourishes. I hope to come home with new images and inspiration.
